Application — Growth

The Deluxe Tea Sampler holds 25 Tea Drops for $38.00, yet the home title sells a bath bomb idea, not that first box.

Danilo Vicioso

Who I am

  • Former COO of Tabs. Built its creator program to 100M monthly social impressions, and the paid ad engine alongside it.
  • Founded Mainstreet, a consumer home-services platform: a team of 70, $25M raised (Greylock, Khosla, YC, Tim Ferriss). It failed.
  • Before that: Quintessential Ventures, an early seat at a high-growth startup, and entrepreneur-in-residence at Prehype.
  • I'm moving into growth specifically. The creative and top-of-funnel work is what I want to be doing every day.

What I noticed

  • The Deluxe Tea Sampler costs $38.00 and packs 25 Tea Drops: 3 drops each of 8 customer favorites plus one Vanilla Bean. That tasting story is a ready-made ad.
  • The Tea Obsessed Iced Tea Glass, $9.99, shows 4 reviews at a 4.8 rating in its structured data. Product-level proof is thin, so ads should lean on the larger review claims elsewhere.
  • Free shipping starts at $50, but the Mystery Tea Set costs $24.00 and the Mini Tea Sampler costs even less. First baskets land far under the line, so average order value is the lever.

What I built

What I'd do here

  • My KPI: scale ad spend, hold target CAC. Everything else follows from that. The $38.00 Deluxe Tea Sampler is my first test.
  • Week to week: launching a bunch of different experiments, losers killed early. Matcha, boba and Ube Tea Box angles each get their own hook.
  • Creators: home tea ritual makers, bubble tea DIY fans and matcha latte people, since the catalogue has Boba Lover's Tea Bundle and Matcha Latte Kit.
  • Reporting so you never have to ask. Daily CAC. Weekly what we learned. Monthly cohort payback, read against the $50 free shipping line.
  • Event tracking I'd spec and work through with your team. That part isn't me. It decides whether subscription orders and first-order discounts are counted right.

Creators join two a week, up to 10 live by week six. Each posts the same number of videos a week, so volume steps from 14 to 70. New ads and landing pages follow the creators. Proposed.

Creator videos a week = creators live × videos per creator. Week 1: 0 × 7 = 0; Week 2: 2 × 7 = 14; Week 3: 4 × 7 = 28; Week 4: 6 × 7 = 42; Week 5: 8 × 7 = 56; Week 6: 10 × 7 = 70.

How I'd start

  • Build a claims sheet from your own product wording, so every creator brief stays inside what Tea Drops pages say.
  • Brief first creators on the Deluxe Tea Sampler and Matcha Latte Kit, then test one variable per ad against a single landing page.

I'd love to chat if this makes sense. Grab a time here.
